Was Specifically, how was he inhumane, brutal, towards them besides enslaving them? Need to be more specific. bill of rights? Much has been written on how he and others attempted to reconcile and rationalize slavery with the DI, but you seem unaware of this debate and discussion and only repeat again and again that TJ was a hypocrite. TJ, like many in their day, believed that slavery was wrong, immoral, inconsistent with American notions of liberty and equality. They hoped and believed that slavery would eventually go away, be unnecessary. But they also believed that the immediate emancipation of African slaves would be inhumane since they would be poorly prepared to live as free citizens in an advanced democracy featuring capitalism. Not asking you to agree, but you need to be aware of their arguments. It was a "necessary evil." Where is this published?

I did not receive a passing grade for this and now since I lost so much points between this assignment and another assinment, I might have to withdraw from the course or flunk out of clas now.
